I thought I’d leave you with one of the most beautiful versions of one of Architecture in Helsinki’s most beautiful songs. Places Like This centerpiece “Underwater” is fragile-sounding in how its assorted beats fold together in a complex, highly orchestrated way – the band have said they find it “too delicate” to perform in their more raucous live shows. It is one of those great songs that sounds like its title – dark and simple, constantly brewing its quiet but powerful energy. For the live music website Daytrotter the band taped a performance of the song that is truly stunning in all its intertwined voices and heavily processed guitar.
